What Marina Linq keeps, who handles it, and how your club gets it back.
Who owns it
The data belongs to the club.
What we collect
- For each person: name, role, department, start date, and end date if they are deactivated. The PIN is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.
- Entries: the saved text, the text as it was first heard, the category, the date, names mentioned, who logged it, and whether it is pinned, done or deleted, and by whom.
- Photos attached to entries.
- Who has opened which entry, and when.
- Entries shared between departments.
- The audit log of admin changes: who did what, and when. PINs are never in it.
- Sign-in protection: counts of wrong PINs per name, per phone (a random ID the app sets in a cookie) and per network address. The address is stored scrambled, not as the address itself.
- On the phone itself: the names of the last few people who signed in on it, an unsaved entry draft for up to 4 hours, and cookies for the sign-in, the phone's random ID and the department being viewed.
Who processes it
- Vercel hosts the app.
- Supabase stores the database and the photos, in its East US (North Virginia) region.
- Anthropic (Claude) receives the text of a new entry, to suggest how to file it. When someone uses Ask, it receives the question and the entries that person can see. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default.
- Apple or Google turn speech into text inside the phone's own browser: Apple in Safari on iPhone, Google in Chrome and on Android. Marina Linq receives the text, not a recording.
Exporting your data
A club admin can export everything at any time from the Admin screen, as one ZIP file. It contains entries (including deleted ones), photos, people, departments, categories, shares, read receipts and the audit log. Each comes as a spreadsheet (CSV) and as JSON. PINs are never included.
If a club leaves
Contact us at maxwell@loglinq.com and we’ll arrange what happens to the club’s data. Export a copy first if you want one.
